Personal Journals in 2025

  • Hashi-haka Kofun and Himiko.
  • March 8, 2025
  • It is said that there is a high probability that Toyo, the next queen of Himiko, built Hashi-haka kofun as a burial mound for Himiko.
  • But the theory seems to have not been established.
  • What I can only do must be waiting for the result of ongoing research on the queen.
  • Even an established theory is occasionally disproved.
  • March 4, 2025
  • I have just learned about a result of a new study on history of Wakayama Plain.
  • The research was carried out with a new technology called OSL (Optically Stimulated Luminescence).
  • The outcome was a surprising one.
  • An established theory explains that the mouth of Kinokawa River was at Waka-no-ura, a place around 5 kilometers south of the present location, in the Kofun period (the 3rd C through the 6th C).
  • But the recently developed analysis I have just become aware of denies the widely accepted hypothesis and indicates that the estuary of the watercourse remained open at the present location in the Kofun period.
  • I would like to remember that science is advanced in this way.

Personal Journals in 2024

  • Horizontal Scroll
  • June 5, 2024.
  • I have just installed a horizontal scroll menu bar in this website, spending almost one week.
  • A spur-of-the-moment idea was the beginning.
  • It was a hard work requiring a longer time than I had expected.
  • However, the effect is also beyond my expectation.
  • In this website with a vertically oriented view for smartphones, I appreciate I can arrange navigation buttons horizontally.
  • As it is possible to add new ones, when necessary, it allows me to have greater flexibility than before.
  • As a result, I can start this new page for my personal journal.
  • I feel as if I had rebuilt a few high-rise buildings located inside a small space into several low-rise buildings situated in a much larger space.
  • "Slow and Steady"
  • June 7, 2024.
  • I have a tendency to do anything hastily.
  • So, I sometimes make careless mistakes when I need to avoid them studiously.
  • Two days ago, one of my pages in this website fell in confusion because I had unconsciously erased a basic element, and I spent almost half a day to restore the page.
  • As the missing tag had been in the very beginning part, it was very difficult for me, a HTML beginner, to determine the cause.
  • I have just decided to trademark the phrase "Slow and Steady" even in my daily life.
